Mercedes-Benz

The application is used by samplers, engineers, and admins to inspect, verify, and revise all parts that are manufactured during car production. It includes the whole process from planning to sampling to reporting.

The Status Quo

IMG_23 — Automotive application context or current state

The application is very mature and has been developed for 7 years. So while no major redesign or overhaul is needed, new features and minor changes to old patterns are discussed and implemented in sprints.

My role was to further develop the application by identifying in collaboration with product owners potential room for improvement. I supported the sprint processes and developed new ideas into tangible concepts in bi-weekly sprints. I also managed communication between product owners, development teams, and external service providers.

Screens

The components for this application are based on Google Material UI. We analysed the web documentation and translated it into a component library in Antetype. Antetype is an in-house tool Ergosign has developed with a focus on high-fidelity prototyping and a developer-oriented workflow.
